Yasushi Ohmoto (1926-2014) was from Hokkaido and served in the Japanese army during the Pacific War
After surviving the war, he then began to study the arts and graduated from Meiji University in 1951
One of his teachers was Fumio Kitaoka, a principal figure in the sosaku hanga (creative prints) movement
Ohmoto’s works are Sosaku style with his subjects mainly landscapes and scenes from nature, especially of Hokkaido
All calendar prints are unsigned - sourced from woodblock print specialist shop in Jimbocho
