Takumi Ito, also written as “Itow” (1946-) is a leading contemporary Japanese printmaker from Miyagi Prefecture
He is president of the Japanese Print Society and currently teaches woodblock printing at Waseda University, Tokyo
Most of his works are themed around local matsuri (festivals) and mingei (folk craft) items, exploring local cultures of Japanese rural areas
