  • From Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost island

  • Crafted from Enju wood (Japanese Pagoda Tree), known for its alternating brown and light-brown ridges, creating a striking, unique contrast in carvings

  • The Ainu (indigenous people of Japan) traditionally use Enju wood for many of their carvings, especially of owls

  • Features an irremovable copper insert affixed to the interior

  • Sticker on the base indicates it is handmade from premium Hokkaido wood

  • Also labeled as a Rokujyu vase, made specifically to celebrate the 66th birthday of the recipient
