From late Meiji to early Taisho Period
Marked with kanji character "Hi" for the former province of "Hizen"
Hizen was a region which Arita, Imari and Karatsu was part of during the Edo Period (1603-1868) and became a hub of ceramic production
These plates have been decorated with transfers, hand painting and itchinmori techniques
Itchinmori is a technique where slip, glaze, or paint is poured into itchin (dropper) and squeezed out to decorate the piece
Hawks can reach their target with speed and precision, their sharp claws capturing their prey and never letting go, thus associated with grasping luck, happiness, and succeeding in life
